Hello

This blog is my *virtual magazine* of stunning homes in Australia currently for sale. The homes are not necessarily perfect (like in a magazine shoot) so you need to forgive some obvious mistakes, and just enjoy seeing how others live, perhaps even take some inspiration from here n' there! (if you see your home here, take a bow because I search high and low before I finally decide to post a home for my blog!) THANKS FOR DROPPING BY...

Toorak Spanish Style, VIC

Real Spanish Character in Melbourne

Property Summary

Category: House
Bedrooms: 5
Bathrooms: 3
Garage: Double
Close to: Melbourne: 6km (direct line)
Even from the front of the home, you can tell this home has style.

The living areas have that clasic "brown" colour statement going on, as many of the home is in this price range currently do! (although the timber floors help a bit)

But the real luxury of this home, like many well designed homes, is it gorgeous kitchen.

This demonstrates to me what Maria is talking about on her lastest post on kitchen colours, where classic white kitchens go a long way in the style stakes, and don't get caught out in trends that out date as much as other trends.

This home has many classical simple design features, and is currently for sale for around $5-6 Million Big Ones!

This bathroom is a real winner!

I am just mad about this outdoor seating area in a semi-circular wicker - how gorgeous does that look - come on!

And here's the master plan below if it interests you...

AND this is what the agent has to say about the place:

Spanish Mission Family Masterpiece

This extraordinary Spanish Mission villa was designed in 1926 by
eminent Melbourne architects Irwin & Stephenson for A.B. Hardie esq.
Meticulously renovated in 2005 by George Hatzisavas, this iconic Toorak home exudes understated luxury offering sophisticated family
living and generous accommodation. Comprising 5 bedrooms, 3 with en-suites, the master suite with magnificent built in robes walking through to light filled spacious marble and wood ensuite, superb gourmet kitchen with two dishwashers, two pantries and Viking appliances.

Bathed in abundant natural light from its north facing prospect, the residence is surrounded by private walled gardens and lavish outdoor entertaining spaces designed by Eugene Gilligan. A guest retreat/ gymnasium/summer house is amongst the features, overlooking the garden and pool.
Situated on the high point of Hopetoun Road views beyond Kew and towards the Dandenong Ranges can be enjoyed from numerous rooms in the upper level.

A WoW for me, too! First time visit to your blog- will add it to my blog list. Thanks for your comment on my post about Pass Christian, MS and the beautiful beach front homes that have been rebuilt and restored since Katrina. It is a special place that was all but wiped out. Slowly it is coming back! ...susan

I love it!! This house has so many interesting architectural details -- the fireplace, the huge windows, the skylights in the kitchen, the exposed wood under the stairs... and the "grid" ceiling between the fireplace and the windows is really cool. I also love how the fireplace looks like it's sort of floating in front of the windows when you look at it from the living room.

Total opposite end of the spectrum from the little house I posted about today!!

Yes, it's really lovely, and sounds like a great location too.
Overall, possibly a bit too much brown for me, but I could fix that pretty fast!
