This blog is my *virtual magazine* of stunning homes in Australia currently for sale. The homes are not necessarily perfect (like in a magazine shoot) so you need to forgive some obvious mistakes, and just enjoy seeing how others live, perhaps even take some inspiration from here n' there! (if you see your home here, take a bow because I search high and low before I finally decide to post a home for my blog!) THANKS FOR DROPPING BY...

A Hawthorn Classic Home, VIC

Luxury on Scotch Hill

Property Summary

Category: House
Bedrooms: 5
Bathrooms: 5
Garage: Double
Close to: Melbourne: 6km (direct line)
Scotch Hill is in Hawthorn, which is a predominantly expensive heritage suburb of Melbourne. There is an abundance of beautiful old restored homes like this, and they don't often come onto the market.

Despite the white stark walls, the rooms are very warm and inviting, no doubt the timber floors have something to do with that.

And isn't it nice to see a "pricey" home with very little beige, and heaps of real colours!
This one is currently on the market for over $5 million buckaroos!

These bedrooms remind me of the elegant styling of a fellow blogger, one of my favourites, Brooke from Velvet & Linen.

You should jump over to a current competition where
Brooke and her husband Steve
are being considered in a competition
All The Best Bedroom Contest for their work.

While you are there, put in a vote for Brooke's bedroom scape, no.6!
Def the best bedroom in the comp, and no.12 is a close 2nd (IMO)!

Her interior design work is consistently exquisite, check out this home if you want to see some of her work, and here if you want to see some of her husband's amazing work.

Brooke is a very generous and talented blogger who offers many regular posts of excellent interesting content.

Def one of the best interior blogs around at the moment.
I hope she wins!!!

Now, back to Scotch Hill...

Aha, so that's why such a big price tag, a tennis court in Hawthorn, that's not too common these days with developers snapping up these properties and chopping them up for a quick profit!

And here's the Master Plan if you are interested...

Picturesque Mittagong, NSW

A Relaxing Rural Lifestyle

Property Summary

Category: Acreage/Semi-Rural
Bedrooms: 5
Bathrooms: 5
Land: 8.40ha (20.76 acres) (approx)
Close to: Sydney: 95km (direct line)
Mittagong had a few properties on the market with exceptionally high sales, obviously, a pricey area, and I can see why.

Are you starting to feel like you just went to the movies and saw "Australia"?

I think the large glass door below is a beautiful unexpected piece of architecture on this significantly authentic heritage property.

I think this home could do with a bit of an updated styling, but it still looked quite classy (in a thrifty way!) hehe Considering they are asking around $5 million big ones, I'd imagine the new owner would be spending a bit on new carpets!

It's disappointing there's no pics of the bedrooms, but at least there's one of the all important home theatre... lol

AND what did the agent say!

"Luggie Bank"

Just minutes to picturesque Mittagong and Bowral, Luggie Bank is a substantial property with spectacular views. Retaining the character and ambience from the original homestead and combining with a modern residence of the grandest proportions, Luggie Bank really is the perfect Highlands property.

Toorak Spanish Style, VIC

Real Spanish Character in Melbourne

Property Summary

Category: House
Bedrooms: 5
Bathrooms: 3
Garage: Double
Close to: Melbourne: 6km (direct line)
Even from the front of the home, you can tell this home has style.

The living areas have that clasic "brown" colour statement going on, as many of the home is in this price range currently do! (although the timber floors help a bit)

But the real luxury of this home, like many well designed homes, is it gorgeous kitchen.

This demonstrates to me what Maria is talking about on her lastest post on kitchen colours, where classic white kitchens go a long way in the style stakes, and don't get caught out in trends that out date as much as other trends.

This home has many classical simple design features, and is currently for sale for around $5-6 Million Big Ones!

This bathroom is a real winner!

I am just mad about this outdoor seating area in a semi-circular wicker - how gorgeous does that look - come on!

And here's the master plan below if it interests you...

Bathed in abundant natural light from its north facing prospect, the residence is surrounded by private walled gardens and lavish outdoor entertaining spaces designed by Eugene Gilligan. A guest retreat/ gymnasium/summer house is amongst the features, overlooking the garden and pool.

Amazing Lifestyle at Sovereign Islands, QLD

A Beautifully Designed Home on the Gold Coast

Property Summary

Category: House
Bedrooms: 6
Bathrooms: 5
Energy Efficiency Rating: 0.0
Garage: 6
Land: 713.00sqm (approx)
Close to: Brisbane: 60km (direct line)
Features: Ensuite
There are many obvious architectural elements in this home as they are evident everywhere...

inside and out!

I find tho, with this home and many others in this price range, there is one thing clearly missing again - COLOUR!!!

I really like that there is so much wall decor design work, before anything was added by the owners. It's currently under contract, but I think they were asking just over $5 million big ones for the property.

This kitchen must be fantastic to live with (a solid stone island!)

The views, whether day or night, from the living or bedrooms, appear to be priceless!

I love the design of the master bed and ensuite, seamlessly.

And it's nice to see a richly decorated home theatre again (with bean bags)...

And this kind of outdoor entertaining area, obviously appeals to Queensland's year round pleasant weather, including the wet season as it's undercover, but feels open.

Of course there's a pool, silly question...
