Hello

This blog is my *virtual magazine* of stunning homes in Australia currently for sale. The homes are not necessarily perfect (like in a magazine shoot) so you need to forgive some obvious mistakes, and just enjoy seeing how others live, perhaps even take some inspiration from here n' there! (if you see your home here, take a bow because I search high and low before I finally decide to post a home for my blog!) THANKS FOR DROPPING BY...

NOTE:
As my internet provider gives only limited download capacity in my area (crap levels) at a VERY high cost (we pay over $200pm for our internet service here) I can't do as many posts for this blog as I used to, I hope to change that in the future!!!

This home built in 1863 is "country" all the way - but I still loved it...
I think it's the internal colours!

The timber lined ceilings are a bit scary tho!

OK, it's not the fanciest home I've blogged about, but I have the feeling that this place would be amazing in real life... (as opposed to the blogosphere!)

Pretty good views of Daylesford, about an hour out of Melbourne, the most gorgeous place to visit, with it's beautiful town main street.

This home is currently on the market for over $2 Million Big Ones.

AND here's the Master Plan...

And here's what the Agent said about it!

PORCUPINE RIDGE ESTATE One of the most significant historic properties in rural Victoria. 127 acres (51.4ha) of fantastic undulating country and a magnificent bluestone residence Circa 1863 with subsequent additions in the 1880's and 1989. Today the homestead is approximately 60sq and boasts some amazing features including an impressive entrance hall with marbles floors, 1840's French Walnut mantle and original French light fittings. Magnificent formal rooms beneath six metre vaulted ceilings adjoin an outdoor entertaining area offering panoramic views. There are 5 bedrooms, 2 large beautifully appointed bathrooms, informal dining and living areas, a large study/library and wine cellar with a 2000 bottle capacity. The homestead is complimented by superbly architectured grounds, tennis court, further accommodation with a self contained two storey barn and two self contained cottages. There is extensive infrastructure including stables, menage, bluestone barn, workshop, cattle yards and sensational water with dams and bore. Porcupine Ridge is approximately 10 minutes from Daylesford and 1½ hours from Melbourne. A magnificent lifestyle property. The latest series of the "The Saddle Club" has been filmed at Porcupine Ridge Estate and this series is currently seen Saturdays mornings on Channel 9.

Hi Annie! Those ceilings sure are scary, I would paint them white. What I like is that most of the rooms lead on to the porch with that magnificent view.
Have a lovely week!

Wow! I dream of a country estate and I really want to visit Daylesford this year. Ouch on your internet costs! Are you living out of town?

Well, I don't normally go for a heavy country look, but I have to say, if you took away the timbered ceilings, I would LOVE everything else about this property. I think because it's not so grand, I can actually feel like it would make a home.
