Hello

This blog is my *virtual magazine* of stunning homes in Australia currently for sale. The homes are not necessarily perfect (like in a magazine shoot) so you need to forgive some obvious mistakes, and just enjoy seeing how others live, perhaps even take some inspiration from here n' there! (if you see your home here, take a bow because I search high and low before I finally decide to post a home for my blog!) THANKS FOR DROPPING BY...

The Quintessential Queenslander

White on White, with a touch of grey!
General Features
PRICE RANGE: Over $1.2 Million

  • Property Type: House
  • Bedrooms: 4
  • Bathrooms: 1
  • Land Size: 809 m² (approx)
Outdoor Features
  • Garage Spaces: 2
It's not one of Queensland's most exy homes at $1.2M,
but it caught my eye with a contemporary feeling of yesteryear living.

I really love that grey colour on the exterior
teamed with bright white.

The original features of the architecture in this home
are everywhere, over doorways, along the walls, ceilings - wow!

Original floorboards, white walls & drapes,
lotsa gloss n' glass, touches of black, understated glam.
And I really like the simple lighting throughout.

Remember bedrooms like these,
with two sets of double hung windows - that still open!

I don't know if this is a real shower curtain, or just a fabric,
who cares - it's gorgeous in that room!
And come to think of it, without the curtain,
that bathroom would be uneventful - amazing!

I thought to myself, why are they showing that boring pic above?
but then I realised they are showing how
all the living room windows open up like that,
and how great that must look/feel to live with in the warmer months.

And those deep verandahs - yum!

AND here's the Master Plan!
AND here's what the Agent said about it!

Premier Hilltop Property

Perched on a 809m2 double allotment in Norman Park you will find this fantastically renovated family home ready to be enjoyed. This wonderful character home retains all the charms of days gone with the spoils of modern features.

This spacious 4 bedroom home showcases a beautiful open plan living and dining with polished timber floors that flows outside to the extensive wrap around balcony with great city views. At the rear of the property, there is a large entertaining deck with great views over the sparkling in-ground pool.

The kitchen has been meticulously renovated and showcases stainless steel appliances, stone top benches and opens up to the deck for easy entertaining.

With 4 car accommodation and a study downstairs, this large home is perfect for the growing family and must be inspected to be appreciated. Move in and enjoy or add your own personal finishing touches, the choice is yours.

Hi Annie, you've found some beautiful homes since I last came over here! I love Queensland homes and particularly love this grey one you've added today. Nicolex

PS Thanks for coming over to cheer me on at First House again, I missed you! How are you going with your loss? 3 is fantastic, I really think those first few are the hardest ones to lose!

I look at the open windows & think mozzies & moths ;-) The Adirondack chairs look great on the verandah ... very relaxing.

Gorgeous home renovation. I'm so glad I've found your blog - so many gorgeous Queenslanders. It's fantastic to see what others do with their old homes. As a designer it's always nice to see some Queenslanders in the design blog world!
