Hello

This blog is my *virtual magazine* of stunning homes in Australia currently for sale. The homes are not necessarily perfect (like in a magazine shoot) so you need to forgive some obvious mistakes, and just enjoy seeing how others live, perhaps even take some inspiration from here n' there! (if you see your home here, take a bow because I search high and low before I finally decide to post a home for my blog!) THANKS FOR DROPPING BY...

The Renovators - First Ep

Renovate a whole house in 48 Hours

In the first episode I was blown away with the project at hand
and wanted to share it on my blog!

The new contestants were welcomed to the show by
being introduced to their first project,
renovate a whole new house from scratch.

And this is what was presented to them to renovate.
It was all under cover, they had a total of
48 Hours to bring it back to life within a factory.

As you can see,
all the items to pick from to furnish
the house were within the factory,
and the goods for renovation (incl tools)
were all there with them too,
even the soil trucks just drove right in!!!

Talk about DROOL!!!
I wish I could renovate houses like this!!

And here's what it looked like 48 hours later.
Amazing.

I seriously wanted to go visit.

I love that this show focuses on renovating,
and not so much on personal dramas.
Great "how to" segments, like building a stud wall,
or decorating a room with colour.

Remember they don't profess to be design people,
so I think considering their specialities were renovating
trades, the finished rooms looked fantastic.

If you want to see more of the The Renovators,
go see here.

I really like this show,
and can't believe it's doing so poorly in the ratings atm.

Tiling, everything, in 48 Hours.

That's a WOW from me!

I know!!!!! How good was it!!! I have sorta secretly loved that show for a while now.... but the judges are now getting on my nerves and this whole elimination thing... what???? ....don't eliminate them as who is going to be left to finish the houses! Also there's no Treens and Amie so it does get a bit boring. I loved the tiling episode... I've always wanted to know how to tile. I am scared for them now after The Block.... 6 houses being passed in?... I don't thing the nation could cope! A-M xx

Oh A-M, I agree too!!! I don't mind Baz. But I can't help but love what they achieve as a tv show. I just don't know anything similar in Oz. Let's hope they get real with their reserve prices, but then again, I think you'll find these lot aren't channel 9 "wannabes" who obviously don't have a clue what a property is worth. My calculations tell me that The Block lost over $1.5M before sponsors. What a disgrace, and they take it out on the poor competitors who got them the ratings!!! blimey...

I wasn't too interested in the Renovators, as The Block ijust turned me off that kind of program and was very ho hum. I've just started watching The Renovators in the last week and kicking myself I didn't start watching it earlier. What I've seen so far is great, other than one of the judges who is just downright annoying.

I'm loving watching the renovators too. No dramas or at least they don't go on about them and repeat everything. The star of this show has to be Michael, he works so hard and always has a smile. I would love him to be my chippy! ;-)

They did an incredible job on this house and that bathroom was stunning (I can't believe one person did all the work themselves)! Can't wait to see the houses start to take shape - this is a very talented bunch of people.
