Hello

This blog is my *virtual magazine* of stunning homes in Australia currently for sale. The homes are not necessarily perfect (like in a magazine shoot) so you need to forgive some obvious mistakes, and just enjoy seeing how others live, perhaps even take some inspiration from here n' there! (if you see your home here, take a bow because I search high and low before I finally decide to post a home for my blog!) THANKS FOR DROPPING BY...

Pure Waterfront Pleasure

LOCATED ON A NORTH EAST FACING REACH OF THE RIVER, THIS CONTEMPORARY JEWEL PERSONIFIES ARCHITECTURAL VISION. WITH UNRIVALLED VIEWS ACROSS THE RIVER TO PARKLANDS, THIS DESIGNER HOME WITH ITS PALATIAL INTERIORS, INFINITY POOL AND PONTOON WOULD SIT PROUDLY ON THE PAGES OF ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST.

The current owners completed a total remodeling of the home just two years ago under the critical direction of renowned Architect David Withers, marrying state of the art technology with classic styling to achieve a thoroughly inviting home that is also a timeless work of art. The home has been designed to integrate fully into its unique river setting with most rooms enjoying sublime water views. It is a showcase of natural stone and exotic finishes over its two generous levels. In the entrance vestibule, natural light cascades from an exquisite leadlight skylight highlighting the ageless sandstone flooring and striking wrought iron balustrade. The ground level of the residence features living rooms that are ideal for all forms of entertaining and serene living. Spotted gum timber flooring flows throughout, adding warmth and character. The formal lounge is an enticing space accenting coffered lighting, and a striking marble lined fireplace. It opens to generous covered decks, lush flat lawn and beyond, to the river itself.

With a private side courtyard entrance and rare Nero Marinace granite wet bar, the separate TV and billiard rooms are a true entertainer’s paradise.
The spacious, professionally equipped kitchen will satisfy all gastronomes featuring an Ilve double oven with gas cook top, teppanyaki plate and simmering station, built in coffee maker, warming oven, integrated ice/water fridge and concealed mini bar. Chic, honed granite bench tops provide exquisite practicality and discrete storage is easily accessed for all provisions. Flowing out from the functional, designer kitchen is a fully provisioned outdoor kitchen with built in barbeque, lockable fridge drawers and mini bar. The spacious covered patio runs the full length of the home and is protected from the weather by sliding shutters, retractable shade covers plus electric blinds, allowing year-round outdoor entertaining.

The gas heated infinity tiled pool and spa appears to cascade into the river. Stairs flow down to a large entertaining area protected by an electronically controlled shade cover. A fully insulated and climate controlled wine cellar adds to the decadence with a large pontoon to satisfy any boat owner. There is easy access to the river for canoes and kayaks and adequate equipment storage is nearby.
All four generous and individually ensuited bedrooms have water views and are found at the top of the stunning wrought iron enveloped staircase. The sublime master suite has a large adjoining dressing room/study plus an additional walk in robe. For pure luxury and comfort, each bathroom has heated floors and walls. A media room is located nearby for in house family movie nights.

Custom designed features are found at every turn including a Dynalite integrated home automation system, full security with intercom, ducted air conditioning, vacuumaid, gymnasium with views to the river, full fencing and a three car lock up garage with ample storage. Designed with an environmental conscience, there are 24,000 litre rain water tanks plus a bore which services the electronic irrigation system. This stunning residence is located on a premier stretch of highly sought after St Lucia riverfront just 5km from the CBD and walking distance to a bevy of fabulous amenities including all facilities within the esteemed University of Queensland, walk to the City Cat, local parks and local shopping at Toowong and Indooroopilly. An Impressive Residence – An Idyllic Position – An Irreplaceable Opportunity.

Love the St Lucia house and the interior is very impressive. One of the few interior decorating jobs that doesn't look underdone as we so often see in Australia, and it's because of so much fabulous artwork. Gorgeous.

I used to live on the ground floor of the penthouse apartment building, in RiverPoint, in an itty bitty unit, one 20th the size of the penthouse!!... until the flood swept us away. It's an amazing view from the top. Half the original advertised price! It's been on the market for over a year now. Tough times. The interior staging was such a disappointment, considering the price they wanted for it. I couldn't understand why they dropped the ball right at the end, with presenting it. The St Lucia one is very grand.... I agree, a surprise inside considering the contemporary exterior. A-M xx
