Hello

This blog is my *virtual magazine* of stunning homes in Australia currently for sale. The homes are not necessarily perfect (like in a magazine shoot) so you need to forgive some obvious mistakes, and just enjoy seeing how others live, perhaps even take some inspiration from here n' there! (if you see your home here, take a bow because I search high and low before I finally decide to post a home for my blog!) THANKS FOR DROPPING BY...

AND Here's The Master Plan!

And Here's what the Agent said about it!

"Norma House"

One of the first homes in Palm Beach, Norma House is a living, breathing testament to the romance of the past and the beauty of the present. The Vendors have poured their hearts and souls into the rejuvenation of Norma House, resulting in a sophisticated home that captures the character and charm of Palm Beach's by gone days.

* The stunning north aspect & panorama sweeps from Pittwater, Palm Beach, Barrenjoey Headland across the Pacific Ocean to the horizon.
* Breathtaking views and endless skies provide the ultimate, iconic backdrop and complete the beautiful picture.
* The open plan living and dining rooms are classically sophisticated and elegant, providing a balance between style and comfort.
* Bevel edged glass bifold doors open to create a vast entertaining area flowing effortlessly between the house and the split level deck.
* For quieter evenings, nothing could rival the ambiance of the wine cellar. Two Edwardian armchairs beckon you to come, sit and relax. Be enthralled by the history of the home, all revealed via a series of intimate lighting and unique glass cellaring creating a mood of calming delight.
* The extensive use of a white palette with black accents, mirrors and polished chrome enhance the feeling of space and light.
* The curved lines of the traditional Australian surf clubs provided the inspiration for the huge covered and waterproof terrace downstairs. Here, in the event of inclement weather, all the extra living space you need is at hand.
* Ambiance in the classic and traditional Palm Beach style is the result, way beyond the usual jurisdiction of these all too over worked words.
* Original floorboards have been brought back to life. Intricate stone footings have been unveiled and are now lovingly displayed, highlighting the history and humble beginnings of the home.
* Three bedrooms, each with queen size beds and walk in or built in wardrobes.
* The state of the art Sonos and Rhapsody audio visual system provides endless music throughout the house.
* A well known holiday rental ensuring substantial rental returns all year-round

Located north facing on Palm Beach headland, your choice of surfing and swimming at Palm Beach or Whale Beach can alternate daily.

Back at the oasis of Norma House, your barefoot luxury is assured.

  • Wine Cellar
  • Carport Spaces:  2
  • Garage Spaces:  3

This home caught my eye because of the lovely dark subtle
colours used throughout the home,
I imagine there is a lot of exposed (buffed) concrete around,
well that's how it looks anyway!!

Not a bad view at night, sipping on wine...
Guarding your domain...   :)

I think the house must be behind a fence to get such a boring front photo...

They've got a few styles of interior decor,
above it's quite dainty, feminine,
as is below - note the featured ceilings below!

 Wonderful use of Orange here,
But of course, this is way more masculine in here,
almost a completely different decor style.

That must be a mini bar in the basement or something??

I simply love the colours in the Kitchen.
Tweet it here if you love it too!!!
Thanks!

Very nice bathroom style & fittings.

Nice Set up out here - yes?

Tennis Anyone?
Or Beer Below!

Bye Bye Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas...

We'll Miss You...

We just got back from a few days in Port Douglas, with the kids, tiring, glad to be home, but was a wonderful holiday.
Wonderful weather, need I say more...
Click here to tweet it if you like...

Yes we stayed at the Sheraton Mirage in Port Douglas,
Skasey's old haunt,
it was lovely, but it did still look like what it did in 1980's - literally - decor wise,
I'll spare you the photos of that time warp,
but here's some wonderful outdoor snaps, the grounds are spectacular,
so well kept, lush, inviting, quiet, yet great for kids...
(although not a great deal for our kids ages 4 & 5, moreso 8 - 10yos)

Seriously, so many pools, YET SO COLD!
No heating in the pools, trust me, not for the faint hearted swimming in winter,
despite it looking so inviting!
Why can't they just heat ONE pool - that's all we ask!!

Port Douglas is "VERY" far north,
an hours drive north of Cairns, Queensland Australia.
It is moreso for adult couples and retirees,
but we gave it a go anyhow,
next time, I think we'll stay at Cairns, more for young kids there.

Wonderful outdoor design and appearance,
although the hotel overall seemed nice,
there was a lot of wear and tear,
it clearly needs some money spent on it,
painting wouldn't go a miss.
We can live without new bathrooms,
but white paint would give it a new lease on life.

Our Room was on the third floor (a bit tiring up and down stairs
with kids who couldn't wait to climb stairs all the time)

The hotel staff were lovely,
although it was clear they were understaffed,
we often had to wait for basic things.

This was what we left in melbourne,
wet rainy day, 9am,
we flew Qantas direct to Port Douglas,
good flight!

Rosie loved the beach,
we weren't sure she would cope with the beach because she is so "touch senstive"
because of her autism, but she was ok after a while...  She Loved It!

The weather was perfect for us every day,
around 25c every day!
Wow!

Getting our hands dirty on the Port Douglas Beach!

Playing at the Port Douglas Rex Smeal Park, near Macrossen Street

This Kids Park at Port Douglas, along the water,
was fantastic - lovely views for miles!
Rex Smeal Park.

Pretty Much the whole time we were "working" parents of some form,
here's Dad doing his usual "extra" load!

Yes, you can get hitched while you are there,
there's a chapel behind the Hotel, just in front of the beach!
Wow!

The Food was Fantastic at the Sheraton Mirage,
really one of the highlights of the stay,
this was the kids chicken/chips meal $15

There was a party (wedding) Monday Night,
they had it on "Giligans Island" above - so lovely!
The music kept DH up a bit,
but me, oh no, I sleep thru anything these days!

This was another event (probably wedding) at another spot on the
resort on the same night - busy entertaining place obviously!
Why not!

Check out the lush surroundings,
def the tropics!

 Here's Rosie exploring the beach,
in her own time, like everything in life.

Here's her brother exploring in his own way,
he was diagnosed Aspergers recently,
but with therapy, he is coming along lovely!

Here's me with Rosie on the BalleyHooley Steam Train Ride.

 CYA next week!
I need time to regain my energy and sanity!

:)
